I've said it before in this blog, (pretty sure it's even in print), but I will say it again. I am not a pastor. I am not a teacher. I did not go to bible college, and I don't have the whole bible memorized. What I am is a sinner, saved by grace and undeserving of the love, and opportunities the Lord gives me daily. What I have is a deep love for Jesus, and thankfully an amazing spell check system on this computer. (Seriously, I am the worst speller ever).
Why did I say all that? Because I want you to know I'm real. I'm not special, and certainly not perfect. Just because I write about Christ's love, doesn't mean I've got it all figured out. I mean, I'm raising a teenager right now, and at times I'm pretty sure I'm messing it up. (I figure my husband and I are either saving for college or therapy for him in the long run).
Is there something you feel called to do? Have you been putting it off? Maybe, you are like me, and have convinced yourself that you are too "busy" to pursue your God things right now. Or maybe self doubt has crept in. That little voice that tells you your not "good" enough to complete this task. Or too "unqualified"? Or maybe it all just seems too big.
If I could stay one thing to you, it would be. . "DON'T WAIT!" If you feel God has called you to do something, do it! If it feel too big, remember how big your God is. Claim 2 Timothy 1:7 "For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power . . . " That is such a powerful verse. Read it over, write it down, make it your new mantra. Hold hands with the Savior that holds you. Hold His hand through the whole adventure, don't let go half way through. Remember, He's got you.
Changes are scary, and big steps are terrifying, but our God never leaves or forsakes us!
Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you where ever you go."
Remember to keep your eyes on Christ and give the glory to Him. He's got this, and He's got you!
You were made for this!
Prayers as always dear friends. Praying you find your courage and strength in Him as you complete your mission,
Devonne Ramer
