I'm sure I am not the first to tell you this, but here goes. In life, you are going to make mistakes. Some big, some small, but mistakes none the less. If we didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't be human. And while being human can be daunting at times, its all we can be .
I have no secret here on how to free yourself from mistakes. What I have is better, and it was given to me, freely. . . . Grace. God's unwavering Grace.
There is nothing you need to do to earn this. Romans 11:6 "And if by grace, then it can not be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace." It is freely given. Ephesians 1:6 "to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves."
If you are like me, then you mess up you find it harder to accept this grace that is offered. I personally think of all the reasons why I shouldn't be able to have it. How I don't deserve it. The truth of the matter is, I don't. I don't deserve grace, none of us do. There is not one thing I have done in my life that can earn such as this.
One of Webster's definitions of Grace is: a virtue coming from God. Directly for God! How cool is that?
I don't claim to know all the answers, but I know the One who does. I also know without a doubt, that I will make more than my share of mistakes and mess ups in life. And even when I feel there is not an ounce of forgiveness left, my Savior will be there. I know that sometimes I will walk hand in hand with Him, and others He will carry me through, (sometimes kicking and screaming all the way).
Now, I have a choice, and so do you. We can grow from these times and accept the grace, or we can run away and hide from the shame and embarrassment we feel. How are we going to let these moments shape us? Who we are meant to be in Christ? My prayer for my life and yours is that we grow stronger in these times, and accept the grace He has given.
Hebrews 13:25 "Grace be with you all."
